Oil seed rape and winter cereals trials platforms preparation has started !

In order to manage more trial parameters such as the variety choice, the previous crop, the irrigation or misting events and volumes, to have the possibility of making artificial infestation, Staphyt offers the possibility to put trials on internal platforms. It allows maximising the chances to get the target diseases and control their development.

During the autumn, teams are busy setting up these platforms and making the appropriate maintenance. 

In the North of France, oil seed rape is growing, the platform will be able to support sclerotinia trials.

Regarding winter cereals, we have in France about 5 hectares of dedicated irrigable platforms (and more without irrigation) in the different relevant areas, to support trials on the different cereal diseases: septoria, fusarium, rusts, powdery mildew…

Winter wheat is emerging, conditions are good, the platform is getting ready to receive septoria trials.

Maize was harvested, providing excellent conditions to receive a fusarium winter wheat trial platform.

In Brittany, at the end of October, teams were busy sowing the winter wheat, in order to prepare yellow rust, septoria and fusarium platforms.

For more efficient management of the platforms in high season, essential to the smooth running of each action, the size of the plots on the platforms is fixed and always consistent with official guidelines.
