Tests under controlled conditions are perfect for this, but it is only possible if if the results of these tests have a high correlation with the expected results in the field, under natural conditions of infestation and epidemics. Our commitment is to act not only in the quality of the tests, but also in the development of highly effective systems in terms of the speed and accuracy of the data generated.

Plant protection bioassay

These studies are carried out using artificial inoculation in a controlled environment, conducive to the development of diseases and pests, including foliar, soilborne and insects, mites, pathogenic fungi.
In laboratory and greenhouse facilities, Staphyt has the capacity to conduct high volumes of short-term tests for screening and research against pests, diseases, nematodes and in weed control.

Resistance detection and monitoring

We are setting tests to evaluate the sensitivity of populations to active ingredients of interest, to define the baseline data determination,to collect and test sensitivity for various pests, diseases and weeds.

Effects of pesticides on non-target organisms

We are testing the potential impact of a crop protection product on non-target organisms. Our team is able to set studies on Himenopteros (bees and micro wasps), predator mites and stink bugs, lacewings, microorganisms (Inoculants and Biological control organisms).

Mode of action studies

Staphyt carries out studies to identify: product translocation capacity in plant, contact effect, effect on wash-off, insecticidal effect by ingestion or contact, capacity for absorption and persistence on cryptogamic diseases and insects under controlled or semi-controlled conditions.

Screening for new compounds/formulations

We are setting fast and reliable tests to help our clients in the selection of compounds and formulations to control a wide range of relevant insects, plant diseases, nematodes and weeds in Brazil.

Foliar and soil diseases/pests

Our team has great expertise in the production of inoculums and pests and artificial inoculations/infestations, obtaining results under controlled environments, very similar to the results expected in tests under field conditions.
