AgTech Innovation in Field Trials: Moving Towards “Augmented Agronomy”!
Following our presentation at the recent Végéphyl CEB Technical Days, we are excited to highlight how Staphyt combines digital tools with field expertise to elevate biostimulant and crop protection testing!
Digital tools do not replace the agronomist, they validate scientific evidence through data. By matching specific sensor capabilities with your product’s precise mode of action, we deliver objective, robust, and highly discriminating data for your dossiers.
Here is how our multi-sensor toolbox elevates field experimentation:
🚁 Drones & Multispectral Imaging (Mavic 3 Multispectral): Essential for large-scale, quantitative assessments. More than NDVI, Key indices like NDRE provide a powerful, non-saturating look at nitrogen and chlorophyll status early in the cycle, making it a top-discriminating variable for trial modalities.
📱 Literal Proximal 3D Imaging: Captures millimeter-resolution data close to the crop. Using AI plant-soil segmentation, it isolates pure leaf spectral data (eliminating soil noise) and estimates 3D plant biovolume and height, ideal for early-stage vigor and weed-infested conditions.
🌡️ Thermal Imaging & CWSI (Crop Water Stress Index): Measures leaf temperature linked to evapotranspiration. By calculating CWSI, we directly quantify canopy-level water stress and evaluate how biostimulants mitigate drought impact across different varieties.
📊 Continuous Dynamic Monitoring (Cropler & Tensiometric Probes): Cropler fixed sensors track daily leaf area and NDVI curves, while soil tensiometric probes continuously monitor water availability, pinpointing the exact physiological inflection points during stress cycles.
🍃 Handheld Physiological Tools (Dualex): Measure real-time secondary metabolic responses (such as flavonol increase via Dualex) and active canopy vigor.
🧠 The Staphyt Standard: The Augmented Agronomist While sensors provide raw quantitative data, algorithms cannot differentiate complex field phenomena, like distinguishing between types of lodging, identifying specific diseases, or recognizing weed competition. Our experienced field technicians provide the qualitative analysis, contextual diagnosis, and scientific validation that turn raw sensor metrics into audit-ready regulatory evidence.
