Are you thinking about a literature search to solve your regulatory questions in any area: chemicals, microbiology, natural substances, biocides, plant protection, plant nutrition, REACH, cosmetics, food, or feed?

We have several years of experience in broad and targeted literature searches, carefully conducted by our own regulatory and subject expert teams, as follows:

Broad literature searches

To meet a mandatory requirement for all dossiers supporting the approval or renewal of an active substance under Regulation (EU) No. 1107/2009 , compliant with EFSA guidance (1) or other guidance like Japanese guidance (2).

Targeted searches

Focus on a specific target or question to be answered by published literature – Identification of ED properties, spotting areas of concern (toxicological and ecotoxicological properties, other areas), preliminary data (Data Gap analysis).

Our added value

  • The databases we use (Web of Science, PubMed, ScienceDirect) are those recommended in the EFSA guide and cover a wide range of publications.
  • We also use the EndNote referencing tool recommended by EFSA.
  • We have received feedback from authorities that have enabled us to adapt our tools and methods.

Examples of literature searches we have conducted recently include those for microbial active substances, new synthetic or natural active substances, endocrine disruption property investigations, and co-formulant safety evaluations.
