Staphyt Italy is pleased to announce the opening of its 4th trial station based in Sicily

The station is located in Pozzo Cassero – Modica, between the protected crops of the Ragusa area and the citrus-growing area of the Syracuse area. It offers a wide range of possibilities for GEP and GLP tests on the main crops present in south-eastern Sicily.
The Sicilian technical team managed by Dr. Giuseppe Di Maria, is very experienced in local crops management. The Mediterranean climate characteristic of this region allows the cultivation of vegetables throughout the year as well as the cultivation of tropical species.

Crops available nearby the station

  • Vineyards: table grapes (varieties Italia and Vittoria) and wine grapes (varieties Grillo, Inzolia, Zibibbo, Catarratto, Nero d’Avola, Perricone, Frappato)
  • Citrus fruits: orange, lemon, mandarin and clementine
