SAMPLING : A key step to achieve the resistance monitoring program
One of the laboratory’s core areas of expertise is the monitoring of crop pathogen sensitivity to various active ingredients. These monitoring programs constitute a very significant part of our Plant Care laboratory’s work, particularly during the summer and autumn periods.
The first step of monitoring consists in collecting field samples. These samples are made up of infected plant material (e.g., grapevine leaves showing mildew symptoms) collected randomly and in sufficient numbers to accurately represent the pathogen population within a given area / country.
To successfully carry out these monitoring studies, the Plant Care Lab requires a large number of samples across Europe, collected between May-June to October. Thanks to Staphyt’s European network of experimental stations, as well as several partner CROs and clients, the Plant Care Lab receives and manages hundreds of samples of various pathogens each year. As in previous years, our team coordinates with the field teams and CROs on a weekly basis. This enables clients to benefit from analyses conducted on samples from across Europe, providing an accurate overview of pathogen sensitivity.
🚨 THE SAMPLING CAMPAIGN IS STARTING NOW !
This year, we are looking for the following diseases :

• Grapevine powdery mildew: France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain
• Grapevine Botrytis : France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Czech Republic
• Potato late blight: France, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, UK, Ireland, Denmark, Italy, Spain
