Wheat is a strategic crop for French and European agriculture, playing a key role in food production and agricultural markets. However, its yield potential is regularly threatened by fungal diseases. Yield losses, reduced grain quality and the emergence of fungicide resistance are major challenges, reinforcing the need to assess and develop effective, sustainable crop protection solutions.
🔬 Our Plant Care Laboratory supports the evaluation of plant protection products (PPPs) on wheat, offering a comprehensive range of trials tailored to your development objectives.

🧪 OUR EXPERIMENTAL APPROACHES
We operate at different experimental scales to characterise the efficacy and performance of your solutions:
🔹 In vitro: fungal cultures on agar media in Petri dishes and microplate assays.
🔹 In vivo: efficacy assessments on detached wheat leaf segments.
🔹 In planta: trials on whole plants grown in greenhouses, using artificial inoculation and incubation in controlled-environment growth chambers.

We assess different product types, including conventional PPPs, biological control products and adjuvants, depending on the compatibility with each experimental setup.
Our trials can be designed to investigate:
✔️ Product efficacy against target fungal pathogens.
✔️ Modes of action: preventive and curative activity, synergistic effects and spray programme strategies.
✔️ Rainfastness, under different simulated rainfall conditions.
✔️ Fungal sensitivity profiles, using a panel of strains exhibiting different levels of sensitivity to conventional PPPs.
